Banbury Utd 0
Hemel Hempstead 4 (Fennemore 10, 76, 82, Stone 85)
An injury to Joe Coleman made it a bad day for Banbury, who slumped to a heavy Premier Division defeat against their second-placed opponents on Saturday.
Coleman, Banbury’s best player, suffered a leg injury in the 68th minute and had to leave the field.
At the time, Banbury were trailing 1-0, despite having most of the play.
However, their attempts to draw level left gaps at the back, and Hemel Hempstead capitalised for a flattering margin of victory.
Hemel took the lead from their first attack when a cross-shot from Wayne O’Sullivan came back off a post and Dennis Fennemore tap-ped the rebound home from six yards.
Banbury should have levelled, but when Jason Taylor’s long-range shot was well saved by keeper Michael Mc-Entegart .
Two minutes into the second-half, the hosts got the ball into the net, but Nathan Haisley’s effort from David Staff’s cross was disallowed for a foul on the keeper.
After Coleman’s departure, Hemel made it 2-0.
Ross Oulton, who had only been on the pitch for two minutes was robbed in his own half by ex-Banbury forward David Stone, and he passed to Fennemore, who doubled his and the team’s score.
Fennemore completed his hat-trick following another breakaway to put a completely false look on the scoreline.
Three minutes later, Stone added to the score with an individual goal, much to the dismay of the home supporters.
Banbury Utd: Murrell, Stanbridge (Oulton 74), Howarth, Gordon, Learoyd, Haisley, Coleman (Benjamin 68), Staff, Shariff, Taylor, Martin. Subs not used: Cray, Mba-marah.
