Kidlington 2 (Willoughby 60, Parker 64)

Slimbridge 1 (Chandler 12)

Two quick goals early in the second half enabled Kidlington to turn the tables in their Premier Division top-of-the- table clash with Slimbridge (UHL Sport Hellenic league.

However, Kidlington’s seventh win in ten games did not take them top, as Ascot United’s 4-0 win at Witney United lifted them from third to first.

In a low-key affair, Slimbridge took the lead in the 12th minute amid controversial circumstances.

The Swans were awarded a free-kick just outside the penalty area. Keeper Tom Mc-Namara was setting his wall as the referee had said wait for the whistle.

McNamara was still behind the wall on his near post when apparently Slimbridge’s Danny Chandler was given permission to take the kick.

No whistle was blown and Chandler shot past the wall and into the net at the far post. Furious protests followed, but the goal stood.

After some strong words from boss Gordon Geary, Kidlington were fired up for the second half and they equalised on the hour Lance Williams broke down the right flank before cutting the ball back perfectly for Ben Willoughby to fire home.

Four minutes later, Wiliams played another telling pass into the penalty area. This time a defender touched it to Jordan Parker, who fired past the keeper.

Wantage Tn 1 (Claydon 89)

Wootton Bassett 2 (Collier 26, 38)

Wantage player-manager Andy Wallbridge was sent off as two goals from former player Sam Collier sent his side to a home defeat.

Wootton Bassett took the lead when Collier rammed the ball home from the edge of the box.

Wallbridge was shown the red card in the 31st minute for over reacting to the game’s only bad tackle.

As Wantage reorganised their defence, Wootton Bassett went further ahead through a splendid individual effort from Collier.

The second half was closely contested and Wantage finally got their reward for their persistence, Richie Claydon neatly nodding the ball over the Bassett keeper before heading the ball into the net in the 89th minute.

Abingdon Tn 1 (Green pen 50)

Shrivenham 3 (Keller 23, 73, Thompson 63)

Abingdon Town’s poor run continued with a home defeat against Shrivenham.

The visitors took the lead after 23 minutes with a deflected shot from James Keller.

Abingdon equalised when Ben Green won a penalty as he was tripped. He got up and netted the spot-kick.

Soon after losing captain Paul Alder with an ankle injury, Abingdon behind to a a goal by Liam Thompson.

Shrivenham wrapped up victory through Keller’s long shot which went in off the bar for his second goal.
