WANTAGE White Horses showed their improvment by coming second in the Milton Keynes Mini League.
White Horses went into the third and final round at Dunstable in third place behind Linslade Crusaders and Milton Keynes.
But they finished second – 19 points behind champions Linslade – compared with their 11th place last year.
Wantage’s highlight came in the cannon relay, where the fastest boy and girl from each age group compete in a frenetic freestyle race.
And after a thrilling battle, Wantage came out on top thanks to Cordelia Halfhead and Dan Jenkins (both nine), Emily Nisbet and Jake Kay (ten), Alice Beaney and Okan Onay (11), Rachel Tomsett and Matthew Senior (12).
