Oxford University completed a tough Russian tour with a 32-20 defeat to the University of Agriculture, Kazan.
Having gone down 29-19 to professional side RC Slava in Moscow, the Dark Blues hoped to avoid another loss.
But they could never quite claw the game back after trailing 22-5.
The Dark Blues' tries came from Alex Cheesman, Sean Morris and Louis Mather, with Charlie Marr kicking one conversion and a penalty.
Oxford’s Varsity Match rivals Cambridge University defeated New York Athletic Club, Penn State (44-15), and New York Old Blue (42-12) on their US tour.
