HEADINGTON Roadrunners finished 21st out of a field of 54 in the Round Norfolk Relay.

The 195-mile race took place over a full weekend with 17 Headington athletes taking part in legs of varying distances.

There were third places within category for Marie-Anne Fischer, Claire Burley, Adrienne Hopkins and Richard Skilbeck.

  • THE Oxfordshire Athletics Network hold their official launch next Wednesday at Iffley Road.

The event will be attended by Sir Roger Bannister, who famously was the first person to run the mile in under four minutes at the track.

The network has been set up by England Athletics and is a local parternship of clubs with the aim of improving the quality of athletics within clubs and schools.

The launch event gets under way at 3.30pm, and there will be a number of races and coaching sessions, along with a cheque presentation to the network by England Athletics.
