THE winners line up after the Oxfordshire FA’s annual awards evening at North Oxford Golf Club.

As well as the awards, which highlight good practice and high standards, the evening featured a speech from the FA’s head of national game, Kelly Simmons MBE. Owain Prosser, football development officer for Oxfordshire FA, said: “We were inundated with nominations for each category this year, showing that there is a great deal of good work, in a number of different roles, improving football in the county.”

OFA Young Leader of the Year: Ben Priestley (Carterton Community College). Charter Standard Club Volunteer of the Year: Geoff James (welfare officer, Hook Norton FC). Charter Standard Club Young Volunteer of the Year: Emma Kidd (coach, Oxford City FC). Charter Standard Coach of the Year: Steve Smith (coach, Bloxham FC). FA Youth Trust Fair Play Team – male: Headington Sharks Under 12s. Female: Marston Saints Angels Under 14s. Ray Mills Bursary Fund Award: Ben Morrice. OFA Groundsman of the Year: Oxford University staff for the Kassam Stadium. FA Charter Standard League of the Year: BOBi League. Doug Watts Young Referee of the Year: Adam Johnson. OFA Volunteer of the Year – finalists: Maz Heslop (treasurer, Chesterton Juniors FC), Paul Lyon (referees secretary, Oxford Mail Boys League). Winner: Chris Atherton (secretary, Banbury District & Lord Jersey League). OFA Charter Standard Club of the Year: Hook Norton FC. OFA Charter Standard Development Club of the Year: Crowmarsh Youth FC. OFA Charter Standard Community Club of the Year: Oxford City FC. Outstanding Contribution to Community Football Award: John Chappell (services to refereeing).
