Henley Hawks went top of the table after a 42-14 victory over Clifton at Dry Leas.

Hawks hit top from early on, with full back James Comben slotting a fifth-minute penalty.

Centre Danny Wells set up wing Jack Shaylor for the opening try and Comben added a second penalty.

With Clifton No 8 Harrison Tovey in the sin bin, Comden fed Wells for the try of the match after a fine jinking run.

Comben created and converted try No 3 for man-of-the-match, fly half Tom Allen.

Wells set up fellow centre Neil Baggett for the fourth try.

Clifton replied through tries from wing Rob Viol and flanker Dean Taylor-Menzies, both converted by Chris Ashwin.

But wing Christoph Bart and Allen completed Henley’s six-try romp, Comben converting the latter.
