The race for the Greene King ODDA Winter League Men’s Section 2 title is hotting up.
With one fixture left, Rose Hill Community Centre A remain in contention after a 7-2 win at Chequers A which leaves them just three points behind Cowley Workers, who have completed their programme.
Third-placed Kidlington Green SC are in with a shout after a 9-0 victory at College Oak. They are five points behind Rose Hill and they have two matches remaining, Long-time Section 3 leaders Nuffield Lounge suffered their first defeat of the season when they lost 5-4 to the visiting George Bar, but they still hold a comfortable lead.
Berinsfield Community Centre look likely to claim the runners-up spot in Section 4 after a fine performance at Cricketers Arms.
Darren Moore gave the visitors a 1-0 lead before the home side hit back through Martin Andrews and Chris Myers.
Berinsfield rallied through Dan Mobey (180) and Steve Marsden, only for the home side to level at 3-3 when Simon Richards beat Simon Busby.
Berinsfield went on to triumph 5-4 after a hard-fought 2-1 pairs success.
Quarry Gate D are on the verge of landing the Ladies Section 2 title after a stunning 8-1 win at Donnington Community Centre A.
It leaves them needing just three points from the return fixture to claim the crown.
Prince of Wales hit their best form of the season with a stunning win at Crown Inn in Section 3, which gives them an outside chance of landing the title.
