Oxfordshire captain Andrew Wingfield Digby admitted that his side did not make enough runs, writes Michael Knox.

“We needed in the region of 240-250,” he said.

“The pitch was more difficult to bat on early on, but I can’t blame the toss, because we would have batted – and that would have been a wrong decision.

“We were unable to put any pressure on, either with our bowling or fielding, and Middlesex deserved victory.

“But we are a much better side than the ten-wicket margin would indicate.”
