Kidlington 1 (Deabill 85)
Old Woodstock Tn 0
Jimmy Deabill’s late winner gave Kidlington swift revenge for their midweek Uhlsport Hellenic League defeat by local rivals Old Woodstock Town in this second qualifying round tie in the FA Carlsberg Vase.
Old Woodstock, 2-1 winners when the sides met last Tuesday, had just had Danny Roberts sent off after he had picked up a second yellow card for deliberate handball when Deabill struck.
The big striker smashed Jack Quainton’s cross home five minutes from time to set up a first round home tie against Bitton AFC.
Woodstock had suffered a blow in the first half when Kyle McCoy was taken to hospital after appearing to turn his knee.
Clanfield 2 (Mays 10, Butt 80)
Warminster Tn 1 (Guy 30)
Jamie Butt’s late goal gave Clanfield victory over Sydenhams League (Wessex) side Warminster Town.
Butt headed home Steve Olphert’s corner ten minutes form time to secure a first round home tie against Fairford Town.
Early domination had seen the home side take a tenth-minute lead when Craig Mays fired into the roof of the net after Mark Odom’s effort had been blocked.
Warminster equalised in the 36th minute when Jason Guy swept home an Ashley Caws cross.
However, Butt had the final word.
Bowers & Pitsea 0
Wantage Tn 1 (Guy 79)
Substitute Richie Guy’s late winner gave Wantage Town victory at Essex Senior League side Bowers & Pitsea.
Guy headed home Tom Butler’s corner in the 79th minute to set up a first-round clash at home to local rivals Shrivenham who won 3-2 at Sawbridgeworth Town.
Wantage were indebted to some fine saves from Gareth Tucker as they reached half-time on level terms.
But Richie Claydon, Graham Edney and Guy all had good efforts, before the latter broke the deadlock.
Abingdon Tn 0
Holyport 1 (Driver 65)
Abingdon Town produced a lacklustre display as they were upset by Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 1 East side Holyport.
Lewis Driver grabbed the only goal game when he beat debutant keeper Matty Hutton in the 65th minute.
Jefferson Harriet almost snatched an equaliser, but his effort clipped the wrong side of a post.
Cadbury Heath 3 (De Wet 11, Tong 71, Dyer 80)
Ardley Utd 0
Ardley United paid the price for failing to take their chances while at the same time producing some inept defending as they crashed out at Toolstation Western League Division 1 side Cadbury Heath.
The visitors went behind in the tenth minute as William De Wet rode a challenge from Ben Milner outside the penalty area before wrong-footing Dean Smith and then shooting past Ardley goalkeeper Kurt Fox.
But it wasn’t until the 72nd minute that the Heathens doubled their lead, Sacha Tong surging into the box to shoot home.
Ardley’s fate was sealed when Nick Dyer burst through the defence to seal victory for the hosts.
