Oxford Downs celebrated a successful junior season at their presentation evening.
Awards were given to the most improved players from under nine to under 17, while special medals were awarded to the under nine and 11 boys’ squads, who went unbeaten through the season, and to the girls’ under 11 team, winners of the Oxfordshire Kwik Cricket competition in July.
The awards were presented by chairman Ted Sandbach, club captain Darryl Woods and Diana Shelton, head of leisure and tourism at West Oxfordshire District Council.
Sandbach used the occasion to highlight the progress the club have made, including the installation of an electronic scoreboard, new nets and a children’s play area, all of which was funded through grants from the ECB, Sport England and WODC.
