Oxfordshire's biggest rivalry will be renewed tomorrow when Oxford Harlequins host Chinnor in National 3 South West (3).

Last season saw Quins win both their league encounters and Chinnor come out on top in the Oxfordshire Cup.

One thing for sure is that the clash will lack nothing in intensity on and off the field.

Chinnor, who add wing Ben Farr to their squad, enter the match on the back of a 20-8 victory over promotion contenders Old Patesians.

Head coach Jason Bowers said: “If it had been Oxford Harlequins this weekend or side x, we would have been buoyed because that was a our first win.

“The encouraging thing was that we showed we have the ability to perform at that level.

“This week’s game is always good fun. We are certainly looking forward to it.”

Quins add wing Huw Jones and back-row forwards Will Clayton and Alex Lyness to the squad that beat Cheltenham.

And they will continue with the tactical change that saw Jeff Stewart move to fly half and Frank Jones to centre.

Director of rugby John Brodley said: “We did that in the second half last week and it worked well. They are two talented backs and we would like to play both of them.

“It is just a case of deciding which one is used where.

“I would expect Chinnor to have an awful lot of forward power, and their signings in the backs will give them a bit more than they had last year.”

Centre Ali James (unavailable) and flanker Alex Dupee (injured) are out of Henley Hawks’ home game with Clifton in National 2 South.

Tom Allen moves to centre, with James Comben taking over at fly half.

Scrum half James Gaunt is on Oxford University’s tour in Russia as backs coach alongside physio James, so Kenny Sewell continues to deputise.

Loose-head prop Rowan Fuller replaces Alex Penny. Marcus Brooker could make his debut from the bench.
