MASONS A are through to the next round of the Scotlands Ash League Cup after whitewashing Comrades 5-0, writes PETE EWINS.
Debutant Maxi McDonnell put the hosts in front with a 6,750-4,680 win over Simon Ellam.
Martyn Wood (4,420), Alan Lowe (4,920) and Dave Rose (4,550) then took the next three games to ensure the victory.
Lewis Stratford rattled up a great score of 12,770 against Adam Thorn to complete the one-sided victory.
Gladiators also won 5-0 at home to Headington Conservative Club and Vikings A followed suit, beating their B side by the same score.
Mike Jones (12,170), Ian Moss (5,250), Alan Oliver (7,110), Bob Allsworth (4,560) and Alan Lacey (4,380) were the victors for the A side.
Didcot Conservative Club are through after winning 4-1 at home to Dolphin, while Democrats won at home by the same margin over Gladiators B.
Terry Green (5,610), Bob Parsons (5,910), John Patey (5,660) and Richard Garrett (5,570) won the first four games.
But Gladiators’ Phil Clark (4,690) saved the whitewash.

- In the All-England Area Team Championship, Vikings produced a great display to win their Group A round robin match 4-1 against Bletchingdon at Horse & Harrow.
Mike Jones, Sean Stratford, Bob Allsworth and claimed victories in a convincing scoreline.
Kennington need to take four points in their last game against Bletchingdon to face Didcot Conservative Club in the final.
