Oxford City hand debuts to new signings Wayne Blossom and Ashley Kington as they seek their first win of the season in the Zamaretto Southern League Premier Division against leaders Cambridge City at Court Place Farm tonight.
Former Banbury centre back Blossom has joined from Daventry Town, while midfielder Kington has been recruited from Clevedon Town.
City boss Mike Ford said: “Hopefully the experience that Wayne Blossom will bring to the side will add a bit of balance.
“Ashley has a lovely technique and I’m hoping he sets us alight a little bit.”
Without a win in seven league games so far, City crashed out of the FA Cup 1-0 to Mangotsfield on Saturday.
Banbury United bid to bounce back from their FA Cup exit against Chippenham Town when they host Bashley in the Premier Division.
Jamie Brooks has left Abingdon United after just one game due to “personal reasons”.
The former Oxford United striker made his return debut as a substitute for Abingdon in the 3-1 win over Yate Town a week last Saturday after leaving Oxford City.
But now he is taking a break from the game.
Manager Richie Bourne said: “He has decided not to carry on with football at the moment due to personal reasons.”
Anaclet Odhiambo returns from suspension as Abingdon seek to make it five wins out of five in Division 1 South & West at Stourport Swifts.
North Leigh give a return debut to striker George Redknap as they seek their first points at home to Mangotsfield United.
After a two-and-a-half week break without a game, North Leigh have Andy McCabe back from concussion, but Ben Hutter is out with an ankle injury.
Brian Bowles comes into the squad, while Stuart Hole is away on holiday.
