Seventeen-year-old Harry Carr scored a hat-trick of tries on his debut as Grove hammered Beaconsfield 44-16.
Beaconsfield led 8-0 thanks to a Nick Tappin penalty and an opportunist try from centre John Bondoc following a mix-up between Chris Clare and Tom Harrington.
Grove replied with a penalty from fly half Roger Sevier and Carr’s first try from a classic winger’s finish in the corner.
A second Tappin penalty gave the visitors an 11-8 lead, but Grove then hit top form.
Centre Ben Nicholl and Carr, now playing at full back, ran in tries converted by Nick Sevier.
Beaconsfield flanker Ken Kavanagh scored their final try, but it was all Grove after that.
Nick Sevier scored and converted Grove’s next try, with replacement Tom Clipsham, prop Richard Keen and Carr crossing to complete the rout.
A late penalty saw Chipping Norton lose 13-11 at Newbury Stags after battling back from 10-0 down.
Chippy could not convert early pressure and fell behind on 20 minutes when a kick-and-chase beat the defence and lock Jamie Berry touched down.
Centre Nick Spencer caught the visitors’ defence napping for try No 2.
A Barry Nutt penalty reduced the arrears before half-time, then great defence from Neil Stannard and Simon Hawken kept Newbury out.
Fine forward work created Chippy’s only try for Nutt, and his penalty after Matty King went close, put them 11-10 up.
Fly half Jon Halley won it for Newbury with a penalty after home prop Graham Stewart and Chippy rival Lee Tustin had been sin-binned.
Oxford suffered a 49-6 defeat at Milton Keynes, with a series of mistakes compounding the scoreline.
The visitors’ points came from two Ralph Jones penalties.
