Substitute Jamie McCuaig scored a superb individual goal on his debut as Headington Amateurs marched on at the top of Division 1 West with victory at Tytherington Rocks in the Hellenic league.
Headington lost skipper Adam Simmonds to a freak knee injury after he collided with a teammate, but still made it five wins out of five.
Luke Cuff opened the scoring after the break, latching on to Aftab Hafiz’s pass before rounding a defender and then goalkeeper Tom Sheppard.
McCuaig then robbed a defender, before surging forward and chipping Sheppard from the edge of the penalty area.
Angel Serrano pulled a goal back for Tytherington, but they held on.
Clanfield 1 (Odom 50)
Cheltenham Saracens 4 (Crosskey 24, Donaghue 26, Tovey 34, Hammond 65)
Clanfield crashed to their second successive 4-1 defeat after a dreadful first-half performance saw them concede three goals to a rampant Cheltenham Saracens.
Strikes from Andy Crosskey, Jo Donaghue and Luke Tovey saw Clanfield in disarrary at the break. Mark Odom pulled one back early in the second half, but a defensive error presented Jamie Hammond with Saracens’s fourth goal.
Winterbourne Utd 2 (Hicks 45, Mannings 80)
Letcombe 0
captain Adam Pendell’s late sending off capped a miserable day for Letcombe at Winterbourne United as they suffered their third consecutive defeat.
Pendell saw red after receiving two yellow cards.
Facing a strong wind, Letcombe spent much of the first half defending, but they held out until seconds before the interval when James Hicks scored from close range. Letcombe’s fate was sealed when Jensen Mannings blasted home from 25 yards ten minutes from time.
Milton Utd 4 (Sanders 9, 39, Butler pen 54, McCabe 87)
Penn & Tylers Green 0
Paul Sanders’s first-half brace set Milton United on the way to their third successive win in Division 1 East with an emphatic victory over Penn & Tylers Green.
Sanders opened the scoring after a goalmouth scramble, before doubling his tally before the break.
Ross Butler’s penalty after the interval stretched Milton’s lead, and Warren McCabe raced through the visitors’ defence late on before burying his shot to wrap up victory.
