Oxford Harlequins director of rugby John Brodley described the Bridgwater result as “really disappointing”.

He said: “I thought we won enough ball at first phase possession to be able to create more than that.

“We really lacked any accuracy in our passing and then when we went to a kicking game, that was really, really poor.

“The most significant factor was that their kicker kicked his points and we didn’t.

“We moved the ball through the backs, but didn’t get any momentum going.”
