MP Sports Cherwell League - Division 1
Champions Horspath bid farewell to the MP Sports Cherwell League in style by thrashing runners-up Shipton-under-Wychwood, as if to prove their status as the league’s best side.
Shipton succumbed for a meagre 89 as back-up bowler Mohson Rana took 4-4.
Before the interval, Horspath had managed 184 all out.
Will Eason hit 46 and Ned Murray 32, while Charles Brain was the pick of the attack with 5-55.
Horspath 25pts, Shipton 5
It was a similar story for James Phillips, whose 6-32 and 33 runs were not quite enough to prevent already-relegated Challow & Childrey slipping to their 11th defeat.
Chasing Challow’s 158 all out, Buckingham Town were struggling on 119-7, with Rob Large (40) and Daniel Harris (33) back in the pavilion.
But the tail wagged and they scraped together the required runs to reach 159-9.
Earlier Vishal Valambhia had taken 7-33 from 13 overs as Challow slumped from 53-0 and 101-2 to 104-6 and then 158 all out.
Challow 11, Buckingham 25
Great & Little Tew’s paceman Anthony Smith was too good for Bletchley Town, taking 7-22 as the Milton Keynes outfit were rolled over for 80.
Andy Harris (3-21) took the other wickets as Town rued missing several key players.
Tew needed 20 overs to reach victory for the loss of three wickets.
Bletchley Town 3, Gt & Little Tew 25
Jimmy Neilson (79) and Adam Cook (60) batted well for Cumnor at Bourton Vale, but their teammates struggled against Ryan Hill (5-40) and Ryan Newhook (3-46).
The visitors closed on 209 all out, but this was not quite enough as Jaimie Noble hit 54 to set up the chase, before Joe Jenkins (86no) finished it off.
Cumnor were deducted one point for their slow over rate.
Bourton Vale 25, Cumnor 10
