Thame Town had a disappointing end to an otherwise satisfactory season when they went down by eight wickets to local rivals Dinton, who thus secured their survival in Division 2 West of the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League.
Thame’s weakened side, electing to bat on a good pitch had no answer to Dinton’s opening bowlers Scott Bowler and Adam Mould Only Nilesh Patel offered some resistance with a few lusty blows to get Thame up to a mere 78 all out.
Bowler finished with 5-42, while Tim Brooker polished off the tail.
Dinton needed 12 points to avoid relegation, but made sure of all 25 with their excellent bowling display.
In reply, former professional Mike Sutliff played some exquisite shots as Dinton reached the target for the loss of two wickets.
Falkland became champions, when Reading, needing only 104 to beat Harefield and land the title, were shot out for 84
