Zamaretto Southern League
Swindon Supermarine 1, Oxford City 1
SUBSTITUTE Dan Holman secured a point for Oxford City in their Premier Division clash at Swindon on Saturday.
It was a deserved point, although City had to wait until the second minute of stoppage time to snatch the draw.
City made most of the early running, Harry Harding being denied by Mark Scott in the Swindon goal.
But just after the half-hour, the home side took the lead as Scott sent along clearance that carried into City’s area, giving Kyle Tooze the simple task of lobbing City keeper Richard Knight who had ventured off his line.
A header from Liam Malone and an effort from newcomer Dan Fitchett was all City could muster in the remainder of the first half.
Elliott Sandy headed a Mark Janes cross over the bar early in the second half, while at the other end, Jamie Gosling fired wide.
Michael Hector was denied by Scott, before Holman fired home the deserved equaliser deep into stoppage time.
Oxford City: Knight, Mills, Ashton (Kinch 54), Savage (Holman 57), Clarke, McIlwain (Hector 61), Janes, Malone, Fitchett, Sandy, Harding.
Attendance: 212.
