Witney Mills have reached the Oxford & District League Cup final for the first time.
The newly-crowned Division 2 champions booked their place in the decider of the competition, sponsored by S&J Timms Cleaning Services and Frances Baker, of Rub-A-Dub-Dub laundrette, with a thrilling 69-67 victory over last year’s runners-up, Kidlington.
Now they will face league champions Headington under the floodlights at Hanborough next Thursday.
Richard Barnett’s team just had the edge on a wet night at South Oxford over a Kidlington side, who were promoted alongside them from Division 2.
Captain David Snell provided Kidlington’s only winning rink.
In the other semi-final, Headington powered through against giant-killers Cots-wold, who had taken two Division 1 scalps in previous rounds, with a 102-43 victory.
Nick Rae-Welsh’s rink led the way with a stunning 34-2 win over Mick East.
