Oxford's faint Division 1 title hopes in the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League finally disappeared when they lost by five wickets away to Tring Park.
Asked to bat on a damp pitch after rain got under the covers, Oxford lost wickets at regular intervals with only Jamie Perkin, Stewart Laudat and Chris Sandbach reaching double figures.
Oxford struggled before being all out for 145 in the 66th over, with off-spinner Kyle Nipper taking 6-35 from 24 overs.
In reply, Stefan van Dyk struck two early blow, and Oxford seemed favourites when Tring Park slumped to 37-4 after 17 overs.
George Harper and Keith Dutch added 62 for the fifth wicket.
Dutch then saw his side home, dominating an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 49 with Sam Cherry as they eased to victory in the 43rd over.
The former Middlesex all-rounder finished unbeaten on 80, which came off just 71 balls with one six and ten fours, while Van Dyk ended with 3-49.
