Eight Oxfordshire competitors will go for glory in the Sainsbury’s UK School Games in north-east England from Thursday to Sunday next week.
Peter Barnshaw (Abingdon School), Freddie Curtis (Cokethope School, Witney) and Cosima Berry (Tudor Hall, Banbury) have been selected to represent Birmingham in the athletics at Gateshead International Stadium.
Didcot Girls School’s Jordan Doherty will compete in the judo for England at the same venue.
William Macke (Wood Green School, Witney) rides for England Central in the cycling at Newcastle Leazes Park.
Abingdon School’s William Fotherby and Witney’s Steven Williams will be in action in the fencing at Sunderland’s Silksworth Community Pool, Tennis & Wellness Centre.
Fotherby represents England in the sabre, while Williams competes for Wales in the foil.
Wheatley Park’s Rosie Bancroft represents England East in the disability swimming’s 100m butterfly also at the Sunderland venue.
