Oxford A marched into the Inter Area Cup semi-final with a 6-4 aggregate win against Eynsham A, writes PETE EWINS.
Taking a 4-1 lead into the return match at the Vikings, Oxford found themselves 2-0 down following wins by Ian Moss (6,100) and Dave Bartlett, who beat Steven Sheard 4,140-2,370.
Oxford’s Kevin Godfrey then beat Sean Stratford with a score of 10,970, including a break of 6,000, to make it 2-1 and 5-3 on aggregate.
Mike Jones gave Eynsham hope by knocking up 9,120, which also included a break of 6,000, to reduce the deficit.
But Mark Trafford clinched Oxford’s place in the last four by scoring 12,970, including a break of 8,000, against Bob Allsworth.
Oxford now face Wycombe B, who beat Oxford C 9-1.
