MP SPORTS CHERWELL LEAGUE - Divs 6-10
Alex Eason made 135 as Horspath 3rd closed in on the Division 7 title with a 133-run victory over Oxford 5th.
Horspath 3rd now need just three points to finish top, while their seconds, who had a week off, need two to clinch Division 6.
Eason starred in Horspath’s 224-4 dec, which took just 30 overs, while Kester Matthews took 4-56 for Oxford.
Despite resistance from John Hudson (60), Dan Todd (4-28) and Arfan Younus (3-24) ensured Oxford were bowled out for 111.
Damodar Nageshkar hit 101 not out for Abingdon Vale 3rd, but his side could not force victory against Kimble 2nd in Division 8.
Nageshkar was well-supporetd by Dennis Lanham (60) as Vale made 198-6.
Tony Skeegs (48) led Kimble to 102-6 despite Harisha Sreekantiah taking 3-19 and Vasant Hede 3-20.
