West Ham and Oxford United have met twice before in the League Cup.
The first occasion was in 1986-7 when Oxford were the holders. They were beaten 1-0 at Upton Park in the fourth round.
But the U’s gained revenge with a 2-1 victory over the Hammers in the third round of the 1990-91 competition, Martin Foyle and Jim Magilton getting their goals that night.
The teams last met in the league in a Championship fixture in March 1993 when Oxford won 1-0 at home – and Andy Melville was the U’s matchwinner.
Oxford have won four and drawn two of the 14 meet-ings between the clubs.
Hammers reached the third round last season. They were 3-1 winners against Millwall after extra time at this stage before being knocked out by the same scoreline over 120 minutes away to Bolton.
