Top local matchman Kevin Jeacock had never fished Boddington Reservoir before, so decided to pop in for some practice last week.
And it paid off in the shape of this 18.10.0 mirror carp caught on a banded 8mm pellet and just 0.22 line.
It was part of a 34-fish haul for the Beehive AC member, who is on form, having won Sunday’s match at Lower Court.
They were fishing for the Larman Shield and a strong crosswind made presentation awkward.
Winner Jeacock alternated between pole and maggot and pellet waggler to finish with 35.4.0.
In second place was Dave Simmons, who fished down the margins in the last two hours to finish with 28.8.0 of carp and skimmers to maggot.
Tim Belcher was third with another margin-caught bag of 22.14.0 to maggot.
