Manchester United striker Michael Owen cast his eye over a selection of future England hopefuls as Marston Saints enjoyed a dream day out at Wembley Stadium this week.
The Marston Saints Under 10s – who play in the Oxford Mail Boys League and who were representing the Oxfordshire Football Association – joined more than 700 children from across the country at the annual McDonald’s National Football Festival .
It featured 55 Charter Standard grassroots clubs, who were invited to strut their stuff at England’s HQ.
Marston Saints youngsters enjoyed an action- packed day of coaching and mini-tournaments, including expert tuition from former West Ham United midfielder and FA Cup winner Geoff Pike.
And manager Sean Collins was delighted his side were offered the once -in-a-lifetime opportunity.
“We were very pleased to be invited – it was a great day,” said Collins. “To play at Wembley is a dream come true for these kids and they will never forget it.”
