Ben Watson, from the St Birinus Club, Didcot, won the junior 94kg class with a record lift when representing Britain at an international in Budapest.
Watson produced lifts of 135kg snatch – a British re-cord by nine kilograms – plus clean & jerk of 155 kg.
His total of 290kg, which was also a British record, qualifies him for the European Junior Championships in Cyprus in November.
