Crews from around the country will battle it out for honours at the Oxford City Royal Regatta on the River Isis this weekend.
Started in 1856, the event is run over a 1,000m course on Saturday and a 500m sprint course on Sunday.
Competitors from London as well as local and provincial clubs will be in action.
Racing takes place from 8am until 7pm tomorrow, and from 8.30am until 6pm on Sunday to accommodate 310 and 195 races respectively.
A one-hour lunchtime break from the main events tomorrow will see the staging of the Quart Sprint Eights for both men’s and women’s crews.
The winners will receive Quart Tankards as prizes.
All crews must be composed of a 50-50 split of men and women in each boat, and the winning club will receive four Concept blades, worth £1,300.
