Milton United 0
Witney United 2 (McNally 34, Allmond 55)
Witney United made it a winning start under new boss Darren Teggart as they saw off a shot-shy Milton United in Saturday’s Oxfordshire derby in the FA Cup.
After a dull opening half-hour, the Hellenic League Premier visitors took the lead when Sam McNally headed home his first senior goal from close range after a mistake from Milton keeper Ben Duke.
The home side missed a great chance when a low cross from James Clark found Billy Warner, but he scuffed his shot.
And they were made to pay when Conor Allmond smashed home Witney’s second to seal it after defender Robert Hudson failed to deal with a cross from Jamie Wyatt.
Witney had a penalty turned down moments later when Sean McKeon was felled by Hudson.
Milton tried to get back in the game, but could not turn their possession into goals as Witney set up a preliminary round trip to Thatcham.
Bristol Manor Farm 5 (Hiscox 3, Simpson 18, Milner og 46, Kye Thomas 60, Kyle Thomas 66)
Ardley Utd 3 (Milner 40, Stidder 76, Bryan 84)
Ten-man Ardley bowed out of the competition at the first hurdle – for the third season running – after this heavy defeat.
Ben Hiscox fired the hosts ahead early on, and although Ardley got a grip of the game, they failed to take their chances.
And they paid the price when Troy Simpson doubled Bristol’s lead, rifling a shot past Kurt Fox in the Ardley goal.
Five minutes from half-time, Ardley clawed one back when Ben Milner prodded home.
Shortly after the break, Milner sliced Simpson’s cross into his own net.
Ardley were reduced to ten men when Adam Richmond was sent off after bringing down Simpson as he headed for goal, with Kye Thomas making it 4-1 from the resulting free kick.
Kyle Thomas put Bristol 5-1 up, before goals from Ardley’s Andrew Stidder and Troy Bryan added some respectability to the scoreline.
Fareham Town 3 (Stock 53, Lindsay 73, Tattersall 90)
Clanfield 1 (Mays 45)
Clanfield’s first FA Cup foray ended on a low note as they went down to defeat at Sydenhams Wessex League side Fareham.
The Hellenic League Division 1 West side started well, taking a shock lead through Craig Mays.
Jon Stock levelled early in the second half and they went further ahead, though there was controversy when a cross appeared to go out of play before Graham Lindsay scored at the far post.
Ashley Tattersall then netted Fareham’s fourth.
Wantage Town 2 (Keen 8, Malton 59)
Shortwood United 3 (Pugh 3, Axton 56, Casey 70)
A late fightback from Wantage proved in vain as they went down to defeat at home.
The hosts went behind early on when striker Ben Pugh’s corner went straight in, but they were level when Danny Keen finished neatly.
Shortwood restored their lead through Alton Axton, only for Wantage to equalise when Edney with a superb left-foot drive.
However, Ross Casey made it 3-2 to the visitors.
Late on, Wantage went down to ten men when Tom Butler was sent off for a second yellow card to complete a miserable day.
Newport (IOW) 1 (Augustus 83)
Kidlington 0
Kidlington suffered late agony as they fell to a narrow defeat on the Isle of Wight.
The visitors should have been ahead early on, but Luke Holden fired wide.
After the break, McNamara blocked a Powell shot, while Holden saw a close-range effort saved by Gary Streeter.
Just as a reply looked likely, Newport got the winner seven minutes from time when Mark Augustus slotted home after a good run.
