Oxford United were beaten 2-1 by Bury in their first home game back in the Football League.
They fell behind in the League Two clash at the Kassam Stadium, in front of a 7,552 crowd, when centre half Tom Lees headed in a free-kick on 26 minutes.
However, Jack Midson equalised on 31 from James Constable's pass following smart play by Asa Hall.
But despite Oxford laying seige to Bury's goal at times in the second half, the Shakers snatched a 79th minute winner on the break through Ryan Lowe.
