A promising England international is seeking more funds to boost her career, writes Josh Kaye.

Lauren Haynes, 14, from Bicester, had her dream revitalised when she was spotted by Arsenal Ladies Centre of Excellence a year ago.

Since then, she has leapt into the England under 15 squad, before making her international debut in a friendly against Holland.

Although only 14, she has been picked for England under 17 for two friendlies against South Africa next Tuesday and Thursday in Loughborough.

Her next target is to represent her country in the 2012 Under 17 Women’s World Cup in Azerbaijan.

Lauren’s mother, Nicky, said: “Lauren has always been passionate about her football.

“She played boys football from the age of six with a three-year stint at Launton Boys FC where she was very happy.”

Her involvement in football is costly for her family, whether it be funding the England training programme, her specialist diet, or the 200-mile round trip to Hatfield for Arsenal training.

A club tour next year, for which Lauren has been selected, will set them back a further £300.

Lauren has contacted between 30 and 40 companies with the aim of obtaining sponsorship.

She is also struggling to find a gym that caters for her needs.

Due to her age, Lauren must also juggle her many other commitments.

Out of the house at 6.30am, she completes an extensive England training programme, before studying at Gosford Hill School.
