Oxfordshire experienced mixed fortunes in their ECB Women’s County Championship Twenty20 competition at Solihull.
Their opening Midlands & North Division 4 match saw Leicestershire prevail by ten wickets.
But Oxfordshire bounced back to secure a thrilling tie with Gloucestershire, who finished top of the group.
Leics inserted Oxon after winning the toss and restricted them to 104-9, Genny Porter top-scoring with 28.
This total proved well below par as Emily Marriott (54no) and Harriet Leach (48no) took Leicestershire to 108-0 in 11 overs.
Oxfordshire were again inserted by Gloucestershire in a rain-reduced 12-over clash.
Megan Burton led the way with 33 in Oxon’s 84-6.
An exciting contest saw Gloucs needing seven runs to win off the final over bowled by Vicky Strode.
Two singles were followed by two wickets and a streaky four, but Strode (4-16) bowled Sam Brazier off the final ball as both sides finished on 84-6.
