Oxfordshire under 17s leg-spinner Richard Simpson took 6-62 to restrict Kimble to 197-8 at Bicester & North Oxford in Division 4 of the MP Sports Cherwell League.

Sam Agace (46), Robert Whitehead (39), Derek Pocknell (37no) and Ben Mooney (35) all got starts for the visitors.

Bicester were 88-5 before Richard’s dad, Mike Simpson (62no), saw them to 198-6.

Arshad Latif hammered ten sixes and 20 fours in his 158 off 102 balls for Stokenchurch against Buckingham Town 2nd.

Stokenchurch, after being inserted, made 309-4 dec.

Andrew Thatcher thrashed four sixes and 13 fours in an unbeaten 98 as Buckingham closed on 282-4.

There was a tight finish at Chearsley, where they and Wallingford entered the final half hour chasing victory.

The hosts’ 200-9 was based on Neal Waters’s 49, while Warren Ainsworth took 3-50.
