Oxford University slipped to a five-wicket defeat in their high-scoring One-Day Varsity Match at Lord’s.
Put in to bat, Oxford reached 270-5 from their 50 overs, thanks to half-centuries from Avinash Sharma and Nick Meadows and a rapid 42 from Dan Pascoe.
The match was in the balance when Cambridge were 97-3.
But a fourth-wicket stand of 99 between Akbar Ansari and Mark Rosenberg put them back on track.
And some rapid scoring near the end saw Cambridge win with 13 balls to spare.
Pascoe was the pick of the Oxford bowlers, who were unable to halt the charge of the Light Blue brigade.
