Banbury's topsy-turvy season continued when they suffered a seven-wicket thrashing at home to Radlett in a one-sided Division 1 game on Saturday.

The hosts never recovered from quite horrendous start, in which they lost all of their first three batsmen for ducks after being put in.

Lloyd Sabin departed in the fourth over, caught behind off Matt Corran, while Craig Haupt departed in similar fashion, having faced five balls.

Damian Shirazi had played 21 balls without scoring before he was dismissed by paceman Shane Burger in the seventh over, with the total still on nought.

Nathan Hawkes and Richard West battled it out before they were dismissed, and when skipper ian Hawtin fell for one, Banbury were a disastrous 21-6.

Luke Ryan departed at 36-7, before a half-century stand between Ian Tew, top-scorer with 33, and Ashley Blanchard prevented the side suffering complete ignominy.

The innings ended with a run out with the total on 102, Banbury having batted 40.2 overs.

Burger captured 4-17 in 14.5 overs of accurate and aggressive bowling.

In contrast, Radlett wasted little time in racing to victory, taking only 16.1 overs to pass their target for the loss of three wickets to make it a miserable day for Banbury.
