Oxford United unveil their new home kit today – a much-changed strip from the all-yellow shirt they have donned in recent seasons.

The U’s have opted for a yellow and blue striped shirt, with blue shorts and blue socks.

The kit is available to buy at the club’s Open Day, for which doors open at 10 o’clock this morning.

The Nike kit features broad yellow and blue stripes on a ‘Dri-Fit’ material, with a round collar and featuring the new shirt sponsors Bridle Insurance for the first time.

Striker James Constable, pictured modelling the kit alongside fellow Wembley scorers Matt Green and Alfie Potter was very impressed: “It looks great.

“It is different and distinctive and is very smart.

“I am sure hundreds of fans will be at the Open Day to get the shirt ready for season.”

Sizes start from extra small boys and go right through to XXL in the adult shirt.

Prices are £33 for juniors, £35 for youth and £40 for adults.

United will have a new name on the back of their shirts after Polythene UK became their first-team club sponsors.

This follows on from the deal struck last month with Witney-based Bridle, who took over from Buildbase as shirt sponsor.

United chairman Kelvin Thomas said: “We are delighted to build on our partnership with Polythene UK and will proudly have their name on our shirts next season.

“As existing sponsors they have stepped up their involvement and as we return to the Football League.”

Polythene UK, who sponsor Witney United’s Stadium, are an independent broker of polythene packaging.

“It’s anopportunity for us to raise our profile and increase the amount of business we do in Oxfordshire – we are looking forward to inviting clients to join us in the Polythene UK box for some exciting football and the opportunity to grow our business relationships,” said the company’s managing director, James Woollard.

“The club’s recent promotion has added an extra element of excitement for the coming season and we intend to be fully behind them on their journey up the league.”

They are also sponsoring the Oxford United ladies team, having supported the Under 16s last year.
