OXFORDSHIRE Under 11s slipped to a six-wicket defeat in their latest friendly against a strong Northamptonshire side at Kingston Bagpuize.

Winning the toss and batting, Oxon lost Alex Anderton early, but a 49-run stand between James Palmer (30) and Tom Bishop (20) lifted them.

Oxon could not go on as they were reduced to 77-7.

Aswan Ahmed and Noah Rechter built a small recovery.

But Oxon were all out for 100.

Oxon started well in their reply, but despite two wickets for Thomas Dingwall and one apiece for Kamaal Ahmed and Ben Smith, the visitors eased home at 104-4.
