Captain Paul Hemming has told his Shipton-under-Wychwood players to prepare for a hostile atmosphere when they visit Hopkinstown in the npower Village Cup on Sunday.
The first national round clash against the Glamorgan and Gwent winners, who are based in Pontypridd, will be a step into the unknown for Shipton.
But Hemming, who names the same side that beat Cumnor in the Oxfordshire final, expects plenty of pressure.
“We are going to go there and try our best and concentrate on the things we can do,” said Hemming.
“Hopefully that is good enough on the day.
“I expect it will be a fairly hostile atmosphere with a partisan crowd, but we are not inexperienced.
“Hopefully the boys can deal with the pressure.”
Hopkinstown sit top of Thomas Carroll Welsh Club Cricket Conference Division 1, having lost just once this season.
But they remain something of an unknown quantity in the npower Village Cup after having to win just match to get this far – they gained a walkover from Ynystawe in their group final.
Shipton-under-Wychwood: P Hemming (capt), A Hemming, Charlie Brain, T Senior, Bates, Hartley, Hunt, Lambert, Panter, Miller, Jennings. 12th man: King.
