Alec Cunningham hit a superb unbeaten century as Oxfordshire Over 50s made it five wins out of five in ECB 50-Plus Championship Group 4 with a 44-run victory over Warwickshire at Studley.

The Sandford St Martin batsman’s 111 not out, which came off 112 balls and included ten fours, took Oxon to 241-5 off their 45 overs.

Warwickshire were then held to 197-6.

After the early losses of prolific opener Ian Caunce and Paul Tew, Cunningham shared a stand of 139 for the third wicket with Cumnor’s Tony Munsey, who made 68 with seven fours and a six.

Things weren’t looking good for Oxon as Warwickshire’s openers put on a century stand.

But then spinners Rob Willis (3-25) and Steve Kelly (2-24) turned the match back in Oxfordshire’s favour.

Scores: Oxfordshire Over 50s 241-5 (45 ovs, A Cunningham 111no, A Munsey 68), Warwickshire Over 50s 197-6 (45 ovs, P Dawson 59, R Willis 3-25).
