Promising conditional rider Hadden Frost has been appointed stable jockey for Henrietta Knight’s West Lockinge yard, near Wantage.
Knight, trainer of triple Gold Cup winner Best Mate and the brilliant Edredon Bleu, has not employed a No 1 rider since the retirement of Jim Culloty in 2005.
Frost is the son of jump jockey Jimmy and has been associated with David Pipe’s stable, winning the Pertemps Final on Buena Vista at Cheltenham last season.
His new role will officially start in September, but he has already made a fine start, winning on Job One at Stratford on Tuesday.
“Hadden impressed us when he rode a couple for us last season and he’s a talented young jockey,” said Knight.
