England’s W Rooney misfired in South Africa, but Thame Town 2nd’s W Rooney hit the target five times as they beat Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd by six wickets. Will Rooney claimed 5-30 and helped dismiss Nondies for 147, Ben Taylor top-scoring with 48. David Brooks (47) then took Thame to 149-4.

Andy Harris took 4-37 and Michael Darby 5-31 as leaders Great & Little Tew 2nd dismissed Didcot for only 128. Simon Pritchard scored 32 for Didcot, but Kevin Taylor (60no) then led Tew to 130-4.

Tiddington 2nd’s Alex Mackie hit a magnificent 101 and showed great sportsmanship to walk when he nicked the ball behind to give Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd the winning wicket. Off-spinner Anthony Prior Wandesforde starred with 6-51 in Tiddington’s 194 all out. Neil Smith had taken 7-64 in Shipton’s 226, Paul Jennings making 41, Christian Brain 33 and Tom King 31.

Mark Middleton (7-25) fired Challow & Childrey 2nd to an 82-run win at Brackley. Luke Jones (31) and Phillip Atkinson (44) had underpinned Challow’s 159-9. Keith Cartwright took 5-32 for the hosts, who were then promptly dismissed for 77.

Banbury 3rd eased their relegation fears by bashing Bledlow Ridge 2nd in style. Ridge were all out for 157, despite David Maunder’s 42 not out. Andrew Proctor (3-20) and Ian Woodworth (3-33) did the damage for Banbury, who then cruised to 161-1 thanks to Alistair Jarvis (71no) and Josh Megson (38no).
