AN unbroken opening stand of 177 between Juliet Gardner and Abi Currie saw Oxfordshire Under 15 girls to a crushing ten-wicket victory away to Hampshire in the ECB Under 15 Girls County Championship at Charlbury.
The visitors won the toss and elected to bat, and made hay in the sunshine.
On a hard day for the bowlers, Hampshire posted an impressive total of 176-2 from their 35 overs.
Sarah Atrill was the pick of the Hampshire batters with a fine 72 not out.
But the target proved no problem for Oxfordshire as Gardner and Currie knocked off the runs with more than four overs to spare.
CARLA Wood returned outstanding figures of 5-13 from five overs, but it was not enough for victory as Oxfordshire Under 13 girls fell to a 32-run defeat against Buckinghamshire.
Wood’s fine haul saw Buckinghamshire tumble to 98 all out.
But Oxon struggled in their reply as they were bowled out for 66, Martha Manktelow taking 5-26.
