OXFORDSHIRE are facing the prospect of defeat inside two days in their Western Division encounter against Cornwall at Falmouth.
Oxon ended a disastrous opening day, which saw 25 wickets fall, trailing by 36 runs in their second innings with just five wickets left.
Having won the toss and deciding to bat, Oxfordshire crashed to 104 all out due to the combination of a lively pitch and some poor shot selection.
It just beat their previous lowest score against Cornwall of 100 at Truro in 2001.
And it was a similar story in Cornwall’s first innings as the hosts were bowled out for 204, which gave them a valuable lead of 100.
The one bright note for Oxon saw left-arm spinner Luke Ryan return his championship-best figures of 6-46, superceding his 5-84 against Wiltshire at Salisbury in 2006.
However, when Oxfordshire batted again it was another tale of woe as they collapsed to 64-5.
