Horspath Hammers returned to action following a two-week break with a 96-83 win at Sheffield in the British Premier League.

Their third away win maintains their position at the top of the table.

Mark Boaler and Matty Szymczak got Hammers off to a flying start with a 7-3 win, and two 6-4s over the next four races eased Hammers into a strong position.

Horspath’s Combination side also grabbed a win, 77-51, to maintain their second place in the table.

Zak Payne and veteran Paul Gibbs were unbeaten, with Matt Coulter top scoring.

A day earlier, Mark Boaler had scored a maximum for England in the home international at Birmingham.

England were comfortable winners, Mark Carmichael top-scored for Wales with Wayne Clarke making his Irish debut.

Three Horspath ladies represented the South & South Wales, losing a tight match by one to the Midllands.

Rachel Edge scored 12+3, Jessica Lamb 11+2 and Livvy Horsley 10.

Today sees the British Team Championships at the village, starting with the Under 10s at 10.30am.

The veterans start at 1pm, with the finals at 4pm and 5.30pm respectively, Tomorrow, Horspath take on Exeter at home (2pm) in a South & South Wales match.
