Oxfordshire ace Deta Hedman’s hopes of reaching the PDC Unicorn Women’s World Championship final in Blackpool were dashed as she lost 4-2 to Fiona Carmichael in the quarter-finals in Barnsley.
She saw off Russian Irina Armstrong 4-0 in the last 32, before beating Ann Chilton 4-3 in their last-16 clash.
She did have the consolation of pocketing £1,875 in prizemoney.
Meanwhile, Hedman’s county teammate, Clare Bywaters, bowed out in the last-32 stage, following a 4-3 defeat by Ireland Sharon O’Brien.
