The new leaders are Shipton-under-Wychwood 2nd who saw off Challow & Childrey 2nd by nine wickets. Only Nigel Hume (35) had an answer to the Shipton attack, as Steve Carvey (4-35), Jason Hunt (3-25) and Jon Hartley (3-33) ran through the card.Anthony Prior Wandesforde (69no) led Shipton home.
Shipton 2nd 25pts, Challow 2nd 2 Morning leaders Didcot lost their first league game in 22 as they crashed at Banbury 3rd, although they nearly pulled off a remarkable comeback. The visitors had been rolled over for 106, with Julian Hitchman hitting 32, while Ian Woodworth took 3-25 and Ross Freeman 3-23. Hitchman (3-34) put Banbury in trouble, but Freeman (33no) helped them to 108-8.
Banbury 3rd 25, Didcot 9 Andy Harris took 5-34 from 17.2 overs to help Great & Little Tew 2nd dismiss Brackley for 121, Eric Carpenter hitting 50. Curtly Slatter (43) continued his good recent run as Tew eased to 123-2 in 31 overs.
Great & Little Tew 2nd 25, Brackley 3 Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 2nd avoided defeat for the first time by batting out for a draw at home to Tiddington 2nd. The visitors had managed 209-6 after being put into bat, Nick Edmondson hitting 70. Neil Smith’s 4-36 took the game away from Nondies, but a defiant 33 not out by Ian Gregor helped them to 147-7.
Nondies 2nd 7, Tiddington 2nd 13 Adam Phippin displayed maturity beyond his 15 years by hitting 47 in Thame Town 2nd’s 151-9 at home to Bledlow Ridge. Phil Brooks took 3-29 for Ridge, who made a promising start in reply before losing wickets at regular intervals to be bowled out for 115.
