MP Sports Cherwell League - Divisions 6-10
All four of Horspath’s teams are top of their respective divisions after victories on Saturday.
Their first team may have got most of the headlines, but Horspath 2nd top Division 6 by six points, Horspath 3rd sit pretty in Division 7 by 19 points and Horspath 4th head up Division 10 by three points in their first season.
In Division 6, Dean Creed (4-19) and Mitchell Meredith (4-24) ran riot as Sandford St Martin 2nd were skittled for 48.
Sam Hay (34no) then led Horspath to 49-2.
Andrew Cummings returned superb figures of 7-16 to dismiss Twyford 2nd for just 119 in Division 7.
Tom Holmes then top-scored with 56 in Horspath’s 122-4.
In Division 10, Horspath 4th’s Greg Handley (3-1), Hayden Moon (3-23) and Ollie Delamore (3-30) ensured Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 4th were all out for 88.
Horspath then reached 89-6 despite Dave Portway’s 3-19.
After the first six weeks of the season, Horspath’s combined record reads played 24, won 16, drawn two, lost one, with five abandoned.
Richard Morgan took 6-14 as Abingdon Vale 3rd defeated Banbury 4th by 74 runs in Division 8.
Vale made 161-6, Phil Evans hitting 57 not out and Adnan Iqbal taking 3-32 before Banbury were dismissed for 87.
