Thame Town secured a comfortable six-wicket win over Harefield on Saturday to stay top of the table in the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League.
Skipper Sam Lachlan won the toss and did not hesitate to bowl first.
His decision was justified as good opening spells from Lachlan (3-38) and Will Rooney (1-22), supported by good fielding and catching, reduced Harefield to 83-6 at lunch.
An aggressive knock from Luc Baldwin (38) helped Harefield reach 126 all out, but the target still looked well below par.
Jaydeep Bhatti took centre stage for Thame, finishing with 3-12 from 11.1 tight overs.
In reply, Thame were always in control with Pratik Patel (40) showing the way.
The middle order stayed strong with all the batsmen making steady contributions and Thame cruised over the line with 41 overs remaining.
